We’re Going to Playa del Carmen in 2018 – Who’s Coming With?!
Following next year’s Annual Winter Conference, we will be heading to Playa del Carmen, Mexico for our ‘Out-of-Country Excursion!’ The trip is scheduled for March 1 – 6, 2018 at the luxurious adults-only Paradisus Playa del Carmen – La Perla, an all-inclusive beach resort.
We only do a conference extension like this every 3 years, so start lobbying to go now! The 5-night, 6-day conference trip combines business with pleasure and has long been one of the Association’s most popular activities. Nearly 100 people went on the last trip to Punta Cana in 2015 and had a great time soaking up the sun and spending time with other construction professionals in a relaxed environment.
Our committee that chose next year’s trip spent a great deal of time researching various locations and the Paradisus La Perla resort and Playa del Carmen decidedly won the vote! They went with an all-inclusive resort since it cuts down on the expenses incurred by employees while on a ‘business’ trip, which makes it easier to relax and enjoy unlimited drinks and food while at the resort. What’s not to like about that thought process!?! The last trip to Punta Cana was also to an all-inclusive resort and we made these fun drink mugs for everyone that attended to use at the pools and beach. They were a hit!
Another reason Paradisus La Perla won the vote was the location itself. The resort sits on a private bay, which adds to its luxury and exclusivity. Playa del Carmen also has a lot to offer our guests as one of the top diving destinations in the world, being known for the ancient Mayan ruins nearby and the 5th Avenue area is a tourist favorite.
There is more to the trip than just umbrella drinks, sun and sand. We are excited to announce that MBI’s executive coach of The Leadership Experience, David Rabiner, will be joining us and has put together a new program, Construction Leadership Mastermind Group. Don’t worry, ‘class time’ will only occupy 4 hours out of the approximately 120-hour tropical getaway, but will be well worth your time to attend.
I know that I am already excited for our MBI trip next March! It’s going to be a looooong 331 days. But, who’s counting.
